MAKNOON

Interactive installation/ Team Leader | Bait Al Naboodah Museum - Sharjah, UAE
”The exhibition illustrates the importance of the pearl as the symbol of the Gulf, giving visitors the opportunity to discover the representation of the pearl through intricate architecture, wide-ranging maps and rich natural history using visual and auditory experiences of sound design, interactive displays and vibrant imagery.” This project was led by assistant professors Rebecca Beamer and Frederic Gmeiner. My installation highlighted the significance of maps in the art of pearl diving. The project comprised an interactive exhibit constructed from MDF boards, integrating a programmed Arduino board that activates soundscapes in response to engagement with various icons on the board. This exhibition was held at the Sharjah Bait Al Naboodah Museum.

THE SEE

Mural Painting | Qattara Arts Centre - Al Ain, UAE

This piece aims to emulate the eerie feeling of being watched and judged by a toxic society. The mutated creature in the center represents said society with its wide eyes observing your every move. Above it, there is a sacred golden gem representing an unachievable goal. This is an illusion that the crab desires despite the journey dismantling it in the process. Altogether, the dilemma illustrated in this piece is what I call "The See." This piece was commissioned for the Abu Dhabi Culture’s “Under the Sea” exhibition in Al Qattara Arts Centre.
